Poppy had 6 beautiful puppies on Sunday July 23rd. Poppy's delivery went really well and was probably the quickest delivery we've had to date. Took her just under 2 hours from the first puppy to the last. She is doing well and so are puppies. Poppy has been a good little mamma. She (like many of our girls) was a bit confused at first but after that first puppy she had is down. She dotes of her little puppies and instinctively protecting them. I love it when the new mammas just pick up so quickly on what they need to do. To see more photos go here
Almost time for puppies to be matched with their families. To read more and see more photos of Cali/Norris 6/1/2017 litter go here

We are finally ready to share Penny's puppies with all of you! These babies are darling. They have been so much fun this summer with all of our visiting cousins and friends who love to snuggle with a little ball of fluff! These babies will all be non shedding and we love their darker-dirt-hiding coats! Read more here...
Sometimes we get to have a couple of puppies stay with us past 'pick-up day' and we always think it's awesome! It's fun to have some time with puppies on more of a one-on-one basis. These three little guys are no exception! They are using the dog door to go out and they are sleeping through the night. They all have curly, low-maintenance coats.
Cali had seven puppies on June 1. Everyone is healthy and happy! As a first time mom Cali didn't love the pain of delivery with the first three puppies (who can blame her!) but with Fonda by her side she quickly settled in and delivered all seven puppies without any problems. We love the colors we are seeing--five are dark red and two are apricot.
Puppies will open their eyes at about day ten and they will start toddling about shortly after that. Until then they will spend their time eating, sleeping and growing!
This time around we have chosen to implement a new tradition here at the Thompson MVGD home. The Guardian family of Indy was able to come and observer delivery of the little ones. While they were here we decided that as the guardian owner they would name the puppies. Because our Amazing guardian family (The Plews) are Hawaiian we decided everyone would have Hawaiian names. So without further ado here is our little piece of Hawaiian Paradise,
LILO Darker/Smaller Brown Female
MOANA Lighter/larger Brown Female
KAI Darker/Smaller Brown Male
KONA Lighter/Larger Brown Male
KEANU Black Male
KAPONO Black Male
Valentines day was especially sweet with these cute babies this year! These five puppies have been so sweet and easy! They hardly make a sound and they love to be held and snuggled. They even snuggle up to Jackson who tends to be a bit of a bumpy, wiggly snuggler. (He is five after all...) read more here...
This litter has been an absalute joy to have here at the house. Some of them have started to show some of their personality traits but for the most part thay are all very similar and easygoing.
Lots of 1st this week
Today puppies experience a lot of first to help them get ready for a life time of grooming. They Had their first bath, first experience with the blow dryer, first trim around the eyes and first time with an electric clipper to trim up their behind. We also did a photo shoot and had their nails trimmed for the third time. Tomorrow they will start on solids.
They have all been doing fairly well at using the litter box for the bathroom. I would say they use it about 70% of the time. We gave them some time out of their whelping box today.
They enjoyed a little extra room to romp around a bit, although they mostly just slept. They are not super active yet but they are starting to tussle just a little. I should start to see a little of their personality come out by the end of next week and more so by the middle/end of the week after that just before puppy pick out day.
These are just a few pictures of Penny's babies over Christmas. Its difficult to get pictures of puppies with Christmas lights. The low light of the christmas lights needs a slow shutter speed but wiggly puppies require a quick shutter speed to keep the puppies from being blurry. I didn't get pictures of everyone but these are a few of the cuties. We did weights and dewormer and baths today. All of the puppies are doing well lusing the litter box to go potty. We normally have all of our puppies using the dog door to go outside year round but right now our temperatures have been in the negatives with 18 inches of snow! We are keeping these babies inside until it warms up a bit! Read more about these puppies here.
