Most of our puppies are in their new homes enjoying their new families. We have been getting great reports about these puppies' temperaments! We have a few favorite articles to read for new puppy families--
First week home basics
Our favorite Puppy supplies
We also like our new puppy owners to take some time to check out some of our favorite articles found in our Training tips page. We can't stress enough how big of an impact the first 16 weeks of a puppy's training have on a dog's entire life. Socializing and structure are the name of the game for a puppy!
The three little guys we still have here are doing great! They are all using the dog door to go to go potty 100% of the time. They will need a little bit of work when they get to their new homes but they will catch on to house training in a snap. All three have learned to sit politely for treats in their dog area and they are beginning to learn to generalize to all parts of their lives. Dogs, and puppies in particular, are famous for their inability to generalize. 'Sit' means sit in the living room but then when he moves to the kitchen it becomes a foreign command all over again! Once the pups learn the came command in a few different situations they will start to figure out that 'sit' always means sit.
