This Sunday morning Jackson chose three puppies to go on an "adventure." He took them to Sadie first for a 'snack.' When they were done "milking" he took them to his bed where he made a nest. He has been in there talking to them for 20 minutes. "Don't worry--I'll protect you from all the scary things. If you get to a place you can't go I'll just tell you 'off limits!' (I'm laughing...😂) Now he's proceeding to bring them all kinds of toys. We'll see if this is still fun when they all start peeing on his bed...😊
This week the pups started drinking puppy milk from a bowl. They spend just about as much time licking each other as they do drinking the milk! They don't have teeth yet but their little gums are swollen and they are just starting to chew on each other as they learn to play and interact. They will have teeth by the end of the week and we will start feeding more semi-solid foods. Sadie is still nursing several times a day and she keeps them clean. We will introduce them to the dog door after Thanksgiving and by six weeks they will all be going outside to go potty--even in the cold!
Sadie's babies are seriously so cute right now. It's really fun to see their little features start to emerge as they open their eyes and get better and better at walking.
We have three girls: Asia, Paris and London. Asia is the biggest with a dark face and light body. Paris is the smallest with little delicate features and a beautiful chocolate brown coat.
Of the boys, we have three that are cream and tan: Houston, Dallas and York. Houston has the darkest markings and York has the lightest.
Our black and white boys are darling too--Penn, Berkley and Boston. Boston has the most color to his coat followed by Penn and then Berkley.
We aren't really seeing much difference in personality yet. All of the puppies were born with pink noses that are gradually turning black with the exception of Paris. She will have a chocolate brown nose. We will continue to see major changes on personality and lots of growth over the next few weeks!
