The puppies are turning into little butterballs. We expect them to double their weight by the end of the week. Paisley spends most of her time eating and nursing and licking puppies. She doesn't mind a little help with the babes now and then... "Aunt Cloe" came over to help with bath time.
The puppies sleep and eat all the time. They can move surprisingly fast in their little 'army crawl' way when Paisley gets in the box and they smell their dinner!
Their eyes will open between ten days and two weeks old. They will also start to develop better hearing around that time.
They had their dew claws removed at four days. They did great--they all squeaked and squawked for a minute or two then they snuggled up in a big pile and went to sleep.
Jackson, of course, is doing his best to make sure the puppies aren't lonely. Or more likely he is doing his best to make sure they don't get more attention then he does... Yesterday he caught a chicken, brought it in through the dog door and threw it in the puppy box. Then he stood by sheepishly watching the poor chicken try to figure out where it was.
